Summer Horse Camp

The Summer Horse Camp has been in operation for over 30 years. Area children continue to enjoy the relaxed and nurturing environment at Brushy Hill Farm.

A typical camp day consists of a riding lesson in one of the 3 riding areas- one of which is indoors for excessive or inclement weather. Farm safety, grooming, horse care, equipment and tacking up are all part of this fun and educational experience.

The beginner riding classes have a 1 to 1 ratio, while the other 3 levels have a 1 to 3 ratio. Brushy Hill Farm will provide approved riding helmets. Closed toe shoes or boots are recommended. Our horses and ponies are quiet and well schooled.

Campers look forward to the numerous contests and demonstrations scheduled throughout the week. Campers are given the chance to meet the farrier and observe one of the horses having their hooves reshod.

Professional photographs are taken and embellished by the students during our arts and crafts section.

Campers are sure to fall in love with our miniature horse Promise, who will happily stand still for hours of brushing and hugging.

There are a number of weeks available throughout the summer. Camp sessions run Monday thru Friday from 9AM to 12:30PM.
